Targeting Exertional Dyspnea in Deployed Veterans Using Time-Efficient, High-Resistance Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training

The Department of War Toxic Exposures Research Program awarded $1,204,491 to FSU (PI: Joseph Watso) as part of a $2,848,582 Clinical Trial Partnership Award with the Veteran Affairs New Jersey Health Care System/Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. The FSU site will specifically focus on cardiovascular aspects of the integrative research, advancing efforts to better understand and support veteran health outcomes.
The project, “Targeting Exertional Dyspnea in Deployed Veterans Using Time-Efficient, High-Resistance Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training,” aims to improve breathing-related symptoms in deployed veterans through innovative respiratory training interventions.
