Gengquiang Xie is a Research Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at Florida State University College of Medicine. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Ecology from Lanzhou University in China, and his Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He completed his postdoctoral training in the Department of Biological Science at Florida State University.
His current research in the Stover lab explores the biochemical, genetic, and epigenetic mechanisms within the one-carbon metabolic network, focusing on their roles in nutrition, metabolism, and the risk of birth defects and cancer. His previous work investigated the molecular drivers of tumor progression, including pediatric and pancreatic cancers, organoid behavior, and islet dysfunction under metabolic stress, contributing to high-impact studies that advanced insights into cellular dynamics in health and disease.
