Kendra A. Tiani is a Research Faculty member in the department of Biomedical Sciences at Florida State University College of Medicine. Before joining FSU, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Texas A&M University, building upon her doctoral studies in molecular nutrition at Cornell University. She received her bachelor’s in biochemistry and molecular biology with a minor in nutrition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Her research interests are focused on a critical area of maternal and fetal health: exploring how polygenetic and environmental factors can impact developmental conditions and maternal health. This work utilizes novel animal and cell models to study neural tube defects, notably spina bifida. She also has led the conducting of systematic reviews to identify bioactive compounds that can positively influence pregnancy outcomes.
