New Publication: Dietary folic acid prevents peripheral neuropathy in mouse models of neural tube defects and type 2 diabetes.

 

Drs. Joydeep Chakraborty, Regan Bailey, Patrick Stover and co-authors publish: Dietary folic acid prevents peripheral neuropathy in mouse models of neural tube defects and type 2 diabetes.  This study indicates a special nutritional requirement for folic acid in diabetes to prevent peripheral neuropathy and implicates impaired de novo thymidylate synthesis in peripheral neuropathy.
